We have been anxiously waiting for the next Adams family piece and with Tim Burton’s success in previous movies, expectations were set higher than ever. Now that I have finished watching it, I promise it’s worth it.
We start off with the arrival of Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, in her previous school introducing us to her character and her brother Pugsley. Straight away we are shown Wednesday’s unique ways with her releasing piranha into a swimming pool to teach the swim team a lesson for picking on her brother. That then starts off her journey to Nevermore, a school for those like Wednesday where her parents once went when they were her age. If only they knew what she was being set up for.

Wednesday is horrified by her roommate Enid who is the exact opposite of her which causes quite a stir. This leads to Wednesday’s devious plan to try and escape with coffee barista Tyler, who states that he’s a normie (a person with no supernatural background) and tries to help Wednesday escape.
That is all cut short when she is levitated into the air by her classmate who later dies. From what I have gathered from this season, a ‘Hyde’ is a monster who originates from the tale of ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ where a person who seems normal can transform into a darker form whether they choose to or not.
Throughout the series, Wednesday and her friends, including ‘thing’ who her parents sent, work towards finding out who the Hyde could be.

At first, Wednesday believed that it would be classmate Xavier due to his accurate drawings of the ‘Hyde’ after he stated he was having nightmares of it which led to him being arrested by the Sheriff.
It was later found out in the show that it was coffee barista Tyler after being awakened by normie teacher Miss. Thornhill who played Wednesday Adams in a previous movie. It turns out that the villain of this story was indeed Miss. Thornhill but the reason why is terrifying. The place where the school resides was once home to the ‘Pilgrim King ‘who was killed by Goody Adams, a descendant of Wednesday.

Miss. Thornhill hated people like Wednesday much like the ‘Pilgrim King ‘did and decided to resurrect him using Tyler (the ‘Hyde’) to collect certain body parts to help bring him back to life. When Wednesday finally figured this out, it was too late as the headteacher was killed by the ‘Hyde’ who was one of the only people with power that could have helped Wednesday. She was then knocked unconscious and dragged to a temple where Miss. Thornhill sacrificed some of her blood to awaken the Pilgrim King.
Wednesday was then stabbed as the king mistook her for Goody and left to go destroy the school. By some miracle, Goody Adams was able to sacrifice her spirit form to heal Wednesday so she could go on to defeat the king.

Tyler was caught, Enid finally wolfed out, and Xavier gave Wednesday her first phone at the end of the school year, very romantic I know.
I really enjoyed this series and I am now anxiously waiting for the next season to come out. Now, I know we will probably have to wait till 2023 but if the next season will be as good as this one, I don't think I'll mind waiting this time around.
I think we can all agree that this series is definitely something not to miss out on. Especially Wednesday's iconic dance scene that has now been trending over TikTok. It's one of the most peculiar dances I have ever seen but do I hate it? Definitely not. I'll link the dance seen below this post so you can understand where I'm coming from.
